Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Virtual Meeting

Join us on January 30th at 7 pm for an essential virtual presentation designed exclusively for parents. We're excited to introduce you to a crucial program that will empower your children with the knowledge they need to navigate the online world safely.

Our instructor, Joe Dugan, brings an impressive 37 years of law enforcement experience to the table. With a background as a Homicide Detective in Baltimore City and membership in the HIDTA Task Force, Joe's expertise is unparalleled. His last seven years were dedicated to serving as a Child Abuse/ICAC Detective at the Harford County Sheriff's Office, Harford County Child Advocacy Center. Today, he continues his mission as an Internet Safety Specialist with the Maryland State Police, making him the ideal guide to keep your children safe online.

This important training will be delivered in-person at school on February 5th, 6th, and 7th during your child's Health or PE classes. Rest assured, the content for each class is thoughtfully modified to fit the appropriate age and grade level of students.

During this one-hour presentation, Joe will delve into the origin and mission of the ICAC Task Force. We'll explore the numerous ways children can encounter risks on the internet, from privacy breaches to exposure to graphic content in imagery and online games. Additionally, we'll discuss the sensitive issue of children creating and sharing CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material), also known as child pornography, and how this can have lifelong consequences.

Online Predators pose a significant threat to our children, and Joe will shed light on this danger. He'll also explain how a child's natural desire to belong can inadvertently put them at risk of human trafficking.

Don't miss this opportunity to gain valuable insights into the online world your children are navigating. Join us on February 1st at 7 pm to ensure your child's safety and equip them with the tools they need to thrive in the digital age. Together, we can protect our children from the dangers of the internet.
